is responsible for overseeing the financial health, compliance, and reporting functions across all divisions of Greenlight Training Ltd. This role ensures that financial policies and procedures are implemented and followed, supports senior leadership in financial planning and forecasting, and provides oversight to the accounts and payroll functions. The Finance Manager will also ensure timely financial reporting, compliance with HMRC and funding regulations, and assist in maintaining sustainable and compliant business operations.

Responsibilities
Strategic Finance Oversight
Lead financial planning and budget management processes.
Support the senior leadership team with forecasting, funding compliance, and strategic financial decisions.
Ensure financial operations align with organisational objectives and regulatory requirements.
Payroll Oversight
Review and authorise payroll prepared by Accounts Manager.
Ensure compliance with NMW, pensions, PAYE, and employment regulations.
Manage payroll recharges and payroll journal entries.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
Manage VAT submissions and ensure tax compliance across all entities.
Ensure submission and reconciliation of financial data for audits and funding bodies.
Cashflow & Banking
Maintain accurate cash flow forecasts and monitor liquidity.
Oversee intercompany transfers and banking reconciliations.
Authorise payments and ensure the security of financial transactions.
Team Management
Supervise the Accounts Manager and Accounts Assistants and support their development.
Oversee the coordination between finance and other departments including commercial, HR, and operations.
Procurement and Supplier Management
Authorise supplier payments in line with company policy.
Review supplier agreements and ensure cost-effective procurement.
General Financial Administration
Respond to financial queries from directors and stakeholders.
Manage insurance submissions, credit control escalation, and corporate tax payments.
Ensure internal controls are effective and regularly reviewed.
Other General Responsibilities:
Participate in training to enhance skills and knowledge.
To actively and positively contribute to the appraisal process and to follow up agreed actions

Qualifications and Skills:
Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software (e.g., Xero).
Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines.
Person Specification:
Essential Criteria
Proven experience in a senior finance role.
Experience managing payroll, VAT, and financial reporting.
Experience in the education or training sector.
Desirable Criteria
ACCA, CIMA, ACA or AAT qualified (or working towards).
Thorough understanding of UK accounting principles and regulations.
Knowledge of funding streams and compliance frameworks relevant to apprenticeships.
