About The Role




We have a fantastic opportunity for a

Finance Manager

to lead financial control and management accounting for our

insurance

division supporting both short-term performance and long-term strategic goals.



As

Finance Manager

, you will be at the heart of financial decision-making, working closely with the Insurance Finance team to drive performance and support the delivery of the RAC's Group Strategy and Five-Year Plan. You'll be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis, and robust financial controls.

This is an ideal role for someone who is

part qualified

or currently studying towards an accountancy qualification.



This is a

hybrid

role, working 2 days a week from our Bradley Stoke office and 3 days a week at home

What you'll do




Performance Reporting & Financial Control




Deliver accurate financials and KPIs, including balance sheet reconciliations. Lead cost tracking, weekly outturns, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Prepare monthly reporting packs and ad hoc financial deliverables. Simplify and standardise financial processes for consistency and efficiency. Ensure financial controls operate effectively and support YE audit requirements.



Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting




Support the development of annual budgets, reforecasts, and financial plans. Provide a consolidated financial view of the Insurance business. Monitor KPIs and performance against budget, with insightful commentary.



Accounting & Process Improvement




Produce and maintain P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting. Understand and apply accounting policies and tax treatments. Challenge and validate cost data, simplifying processes where possible.



What you'll need





You'll be a part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong experience in management accounting, financial control, and strategic planning. You'll have a keen eye for detail, excellent analytical and Microsoft Excel skills, and the ability to communicate financial insights clearly to stakeholders.



Experience in the insurance or financial services sector is highly desirable.
