About Us
We are a
rapidly growing company
that specialises in vehicle gearbox repairs and other major repairs, with an inhouse vehicle purchasing team, operating 25 centres nationwide. Due to our continued growth, we have reached the point where we need to move from our current remote bookkeeper arrangement to having dedicated in-house financial management.
About the Role
We're looking for someone who will take ownership of our financial processes and help us build better systems as we continue to grow. You'll work closely with our external accountant to ensure everything is properly organised and prepared.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Systems & Stock Control:
Take ownership of our QuickBooks system and improve invoicing processes
Manage vehicle inventory tracking including figures, profit margins, and VAT
Conduct weekly stock counts and maintain accurate inventory records
Build organised financial procedures that can grow with the company
Daily Operations:
Process customer and supplier invoices
Reconcile bank statements and manage payment schedules
Follow up on overdue payments and handle customer queries
Monitor cash flow and provide regular management updates
Reporting & Compliance:
Prepare monthly financial summaries, P&L reports and cash flow statements
Compile payroll information for our external accountant
Prepare VAT return information and supporting documentation for our external accountant
Manage HMRC correspondence and support year-end requirements
Requirements
Essential:
Proven finance or senior bookkeeping experience (minimum 3-4 years)
Strong QuickBooks (or similar) knowledge, including inventory management
Stock control or inventory management experience
Good understanding of UK accounting principles and VAT
Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills
Ability to build and improve financial processes and systems
Desirable:
AAT qualification or equivalent accounting qualification
Experience with growing businesses and external accountant liaison
Knowledge of the automotive industry, particularly vehicle inventory

22.5 hours per week (can be worked as 3 full days or spread across 5 shorter days)
