About the Role:
As Finance Manager, you'll be crucial to the financial health and sustainability of the Trust. You'll oversee financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and compliance, providing strategic financial guidance to support our mission and maximise our impact.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Financial Strategy & Planning:
Leading the development of the financial strategy and providing insights to the CEO and Board.
Day-to-Day Accounting:
Overseeing all financial operations, including income, expenditure, banking, and reconciliations, working closely with our bookkeeper.
Grant & Fund Management:
Monitoring restricted/unrestricted funding and supporting financial reporting for funders.
Payroll:
Liaising with their payroll provider to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
Compliance & Reporting:
Preparing management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and managing the annual audit process.
Budgeting & Reforecasting:
Working with department leads to produce annual budgets and maintain accurate financial forecasts.
You'll also act as the main point of contact for all financial matters, contributing to the wider leadership of the organisation and promoting a culture of accountability.
About You:
You're a highly organised and detail-oriented finance professional with a passion for making a difference. You're comfortable managing multiple priorities, possess excellent communication skills, and thrive in a collaborative environment.
Essential Requirements:
Qualified Accountant
(e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
Minimum
three years' experience
in an accounting or similar role.
Experience of
preparing budgets, management accounts, and year-end financial statements
.
Strong understanding of
financial controls
and ability to proactively identify additional controls needed to ensure accuracy.
Experience of using
accounting software
(preferably Xero).
Desirable Skills & Experience:
Audit or statutory accounts preparation experience.
Charity accounting experience
(donations, gift aid) and an understanding of
Charity SORP
.
