The opportunity

Join Common Thread Group as a part-qualified accountant and play a key role in the daily running of our finance function. You'll manage cash flow, month-end, and core operations across five creative agencies while progressing your professional qualification with full support.

You'll work closely with the Group Operations Director and CEO in a small, experienced team that values precision, trust, and improvement.

Key responsibilities

Prepare and update the weekly 13-week rolling cash-flow forecast. Manage accounts payable, receivable, credit control, payments, and expenses. Complete month-end journals, reconciliations, and draft management accounts. Maintain accuracy in Xero and linked systems; suggest or test simple automation improvements. Support VAT filings, payroll submissions, and year-end audit preparation.

About you

Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, or AAT Level 4. 2-4 years' experience in an end-to-end accounting role, ideally multi-entity or professional services. Confident with Xero and Excel. Reliable, detail-focused, and able to manage deadlines independently. Existing right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).

Nice-to-haves

Experience in agency, creative, or marketing-sector finance. Interest in AI or automation tools to streamline finance operations. Desire to grow into a Group Finance Manager position as the group scales.

Competitive salary 32-38k. Choice of full-time or 0.8 FTE part-time working pattern. 9-day fortnight - enjoy every other Friday off.
