Gofal Cymru Care Limited is a leading provider of residential care, support, and rehabilitation services for children and adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs. We are looking for a part time Finance & Payroll Assistant who is keen to learn, is able to work accurately and efficiently under pressure and pay attention to detail. You will be a key part of our finance team, helping to ensure compliance across payroll and financial operations. Based at our Head Office you will be part of the team responsible for ensuring the smooth running of financial operations across our care homes, working alongside our Finance Officer and reporting to the Finance Director.
Hours of work - between 15 and 25 hours per week over 3 days a week, one of which will generally be a Friday.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Finance Officer as directed to:
Make system improvements and carry out financial audits.
Prepare consolidated financial statements
Maintain accurate bookkeeping using Xero and ensure compliance with IFRS.
Manage weekly pre-payroll and monthly payroll tasks..
Prepare and issue sales invoices on time.
Provide timely cash flow forecasts and financial performance reports..
Liaise with internal teams, sister companies, and external agencies.
Participate in regular finance meetings.
Archive, scan, and manage financial documentation securely.
Monitor and report on KPIs and financial targets.
Ensure all transactions are recorded properly and in line with company policies.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Essential:
Some previous experience in finance.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, conditional formatting, and macros.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Willingness to travel occasionally for onsite audits and training.
Working towards AAT, ACCA, or similar qualifications or a willingness to do so.
Desirable:
Familiarity with financial and accounting software.
Understanding of financial regulations and internal controls.
Experience with Xero accounting software.
Driving licence and access to a vehicle.
