We are seeking a Finance & Payroll Assistant to join our finance team. Reporting to our in-house, qualified, Accountant/Finance Manager, you will help maintain accurate financial records, support payroll activities, and ensure that our finance operations run smoothly and in line with internal controls. This is a key role within a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment, offering broad exposure and the opportunity to work collaboratively across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable:
process supplier invoices, ensure timely, compliant payments.
Invoice Processing:
manage invoices through Business Central and Zetadocs; ensure accurate coding and approvals.
Reconciliation:
complete supplier account reconciliations, identify and resolve discrepancies.
Accounts Receivable:
raise sales invoices, monitor and chase outstanding debts, manage credit-insurance limits and overdue-debt reporting.
Payroll Support:
collate timesheets, maintain employee data, support monthly payroll preparation and handle basic payroll queries.
VAT & Statutory Returns:
assist with quarterly VAT, export returns, and other required submissions.
Internal Controls:
support documentation and monitoring of financial processes in line with audit and compliance requirements.
General Finance Administration:
assist with day-to-day finance tasks, support month-end processes and ad hoc project work.
What We're Looking For
At least three years' experience in an accounts or finance support role.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office; particularly Excel.
Experience with Business Central or similar accounting software (e.g., Sage).
High attention to detail with excellent data-entry accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Exports experience preferred but not essential.
Payroll experience advantageous but not essential.
