To ensure the accurate recording, reporting, and analysis of the financial transactions. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial statements, maintaining compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations, and supporting financial decision-making through detailed reporting and analysis. This is a hands on and technical role.
You will be a Qualified ACA or ACCA Accountant either from Practice or with a number of years financial accounting experience from industry. Strong knowledge of UK GAAP is essential as is the ability to develop and improve existing processes and controls.
Principal duties and responsibilities
Financial Reporting - Prepare accurate financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement and Net Working Capital calculations) on a monthly basis.
Ownership of consolidated balance sheet (including intercompany maintenance)
Maintenance of Fixed Asset register - including dealing with HP agreements.
Regulatory Compliance - Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, preparation and submission of VAT submissions and financial regulations.
Management Accounts - Support Head of Finance in preparation of monthly management accounts / reporting packs for investors.
Audit Support - Provide documentation and support during internal and external audits. Support in preparation of statutory accounts where appropriate
Budget Monitoring - Assist in budget preparation and monitor performance against budget (including departmental budgets)
Internal Controls - Help implement and monitor internal financial controls to prevent fraud and errors.
Involvement in ad-hoc projects
Supporting the Head of Finance
Oversee the monthly payroll processing with the HR team
Essential skills & experience
Qualified ACA or ACCA
Post qualified experience in industry of at least 3 years
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory standards (including consolidation of accounts)
Experience with accounting software
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
Experienced and motivated by working in an environment of change and continual process improvement. Able to prioritise and re-prioritise as circumstances change.

Ability to communicate to financial and non-financial personnel.

Salary
From 60,000 per annum, with a car allowance.
Hours of work
Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

This is a hybrid role, based from our Head Office in Corby 3 days per week and 2 days a week working from home.
