Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making. This role requires a strong understanding of financial accounting principles and proficiency in various accounting software.

Duties

Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with accounting standards. Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments. Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank statements and general ledger accounts. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights into financial performance. Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks, PeopleSoft, Sage, or Xero for efficient financial management. Mentor junior staff members, providing guidance on best practices in financial accounting. Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of financial strategies with organisational goals. Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and best practices within the financial services industry.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role within the finance sector. Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero) is essential. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to mentor and develop junior team members effectively. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
