Role overview:
The Financial Accountant at Tes Global will play a key role in supporting the financial management of a global leader in the education technology space. This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial reporting, ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes.
You will ensure compliance with both internal financial controls and external regulations, including tax and statutory requirements across Tes Global's international operations. In addition to managing key monthly reporting, reconciliations, and supporting audits, you'll contribute to process improvements across the finance function and assist with the integration of new acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities:


Support the preparation of annual statutory accounts for review across UK entities and collaborate with foreign subsidiaries for consolidation. Assist with the statutory audit process, ensuring deliverables are met and queries are managed efficiently. Support monthly management accounts, including preparation of central cost P&Ls. Monitor, review, and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations, recommending and implementing improvements. Prepare group IFRS 16 schedules. Assist with annual budget preparation and liaise with central cost budget holders. Reconcile and maintain intercompany accounts, resolving differences and working closely with international subsidiaries. Oversee staff cost reporting and payroll postings. Support treasury and multi-currency cash forecasting. Assist the Tax Manager with tax compliance, including preparation of corporation tax computations and VAT returns.
What will you need to succeed?


ACA or ACCA qualified, with at least 1+ years of post-qualification experience. Strong technical knowledge of IFRS standards, including IFRS 3, IFRS 10, IFRS 16, IAS 36, and IAS 38. Experience in financial accounting or external audit (minimum 2 years). Understanding of external audit compliance and processes. Experience with group consolidations and acquisition accounting. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/accounting software. Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach. High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
