We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Account Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing client accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining strong relationships with clients. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a solid understanding of accounts payable processes. The Account Manager will play a crucial role in supporting our clients' financial needs while contributing to the overall success of the organisation.
Responsibilities
Manage the entire financial closing process, ensuring all deadlines are met.
Prepare or oversee the preparation of statutory financial statements.
Produce timely and accurate internal management reports for various business segments.
Ensure all balance sheet accounts (especially inventory, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and accrued liabilities) are fully reconciled and any discrepancies are investigated and resolved.
Oversee the accurate application of revenue recognition principles for complex sales, including multi-deliverable arrangements.
Manage the accounting for inventory, including cost of goods sold (COGS), shrinkage, obsolescence provisions, and period-end valuations.
Oversee the AP and AR teams to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and that vendor payments and customer collections are processed correctly.
Liaise with external tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate filing of all corporate tax, VAT returns, considering the complex nexus rules for e-commerce.
Qualifications
Certifications or professional qualifications in Accountancy will be preferred.
Proven experience in account management or a similar role within a financial or accounting environment.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is essential.
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and financial reporting.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients effectively.
Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
