Are you an organised and efficient administrator looking for a new challenge within a supportive and inclusive working environment? West Berkshire Council is seeking an Administration Assistant to join the Financial Assessment & Charging Team, based at Market Street Offices in West Berkshire.
The Financial Assessment & Charging Team undertake financial assessments under the authority's Charging for Adult Social Care policy for all new and existing users of Adult Social Care Services. This is to enable the Council to comply with the requirements of the Care Act and the Care and Support (Charging and Assessment of Resources) Regulations 2014. You will play a crucial part in providing support to assist the team meet its responsibilities. Reporting to the Team Manager, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including:
Managing the post, ensuring it is accurately scanned onto the relevant client record in the charging system
Printing & posting correspondence for clients
Filing paper records
Taking minutes of team meetings
Responding to and dealing with enquiries received via phone, post, electronically or in person
Generating weekly reports from the charging system for the team to enable them to manage their workloads effectively
Carrying out any other duties which may be required to support the team
Maintaining good working relationships with operational staff
To excel in this role, you should have
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively
Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all aspects of your work
Proficient IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
We are ideally looking for the successful candidate to work Monday to Friday but can be flexible on the number of hours worked each day.

You will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement starting at 28 days per annum (plus public holidays) Rising by an additional 5 days after 5 years' service.
