Financial Controller



Location:

Blackburn, Lancashire (Office-based)

Salary:

40,000 - 50,000 DOE

Hours:

Full-time, Monday to Friday

Overview:



We're seeking an experienced and detail-driven

Financial Controller

to take full ownership of financial management across our group of growing businesses. The ideal candidate will provide strong financial leadership, manage day-to-day accounting operations, and deliver insightful reporting to support strategic decision-making by the Directors.

This is a key senior role within the business, ideal for someone with hands-on experience managing multi-entity accounts, budgets, and cashflow.

Key Responsibilities:



Oversee all company finances across multiple trading entities. Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, and cashflow forecasts. Conduct financial analysis to support business growth and investment decisions. Manage VAT submissions, payroll oversight, and balance sheet reconciliations. Liaise with external accountants and auditors to ensure compliance. Monitor expenditure and implement cost-saving initiatives. Support Directors with financial planning and reinvestment strategies. Supervise junior finance/admin staff as the department grows.

Skills & Experience:



Minimum 5 years' experience in financial management or control. Qualified or part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) preferred. Strong analytical, budgeting, and reporting skills. Experience handling multi-company or multi-department financials. Excellent Excel and accounting software skills (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage). Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with Directors.
