The Job:

Financial Controller

08:00 - 17:00 (flexibility to allow for USA requirements)

The Role:



Take ownership of the UK accounts and ensure their accuracy. Manage the UK AP and Payroll functions. Ensuring all month end processes are completed in a timely manner and we adhere to expected close schedules/timings. Communicate regularly with the US controller to ensure all transactions are posted correctly. Ensure we are compliant with both US & UK GAAP (ASC & IFRS) and flag any change requirements to the finance leadership team in a timely manner. Sign off on month end journals and balance sheet reconciliations. Responsible for fixed asset management, including standard monthly postings and keeping the register up to date. Take a leading role in compliance activities such as the statutory audit, R&D work and payroll compliance. Assist FP&A with information requirements for budgeting, forecasting and reporting.

Who are we looking for?



You will have a strong background in financial accounting along with a chartered accounting qualification, post qualification experience and possess good leadership qualities. You will be very technically competent in all areas of finance. You will be a strong people manager with experience managing teams. As one of our Team you will naturally have an understanding and appreciation for manufacturing and brand requirements. We work in a fast-paced environment so the ability to act under pressure with calmness, clarity of thought and decisive authority is crucial. There may be the need to travel within the UK to suppliers and occasionally to the USA HQ. You will have the determination to drive forward the business to 'Best-in-Class' performance standards in line with brand expectations and be a lateral thinker able to think outside of the box to make structured and objective decisions. Other traits of a successful Singer employee will include excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and excellent attention to detail.

Requirements:



Fully qualified chartered accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA etc.) Strong People Manager with experience managing teams Demonstrable experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally from with the automotive industry Proficiency in all MS packages incl. Intermediate skills in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint etc. (Advanced skills would be advantageous) Full, clean driving licence

The role is predominantly based out of our Woodford Halse facility with the flexibility to work remotely dependent on business requirements.
