Job Description

Blake Group, based in Edinburgh, specialises in metalwork, steel fabrication, and the production of fuel storage tanks, leading the UK market in these areas. The company employs around 50 staff, including 30 qualified engineers and welders, and is CE certified for structural steel production.

We are now looking for a experienced Financial Controller (management) to support internal business decisions by preparing financial information and analysing performance. This will include working closely with the Managing Director in creating budgets, forecasting, controlling costs and preparing reports for shareholders / NED's.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial analysis and reporting:

Leading the accounts team in particular bookkeeper / office manager to prepare monthly reports accounts to evaluate performance. Generate management reports and communicate financial insights to non-financial managers.

Budgeting and forecasting

Prepare budgets and forecasts to look at variance analysis in comparing actual results against the budget.

Cost Control

Monitor spending, allocate financial resources efficiently and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

Costing

Provide financial input to new business costings to ensure properly priced with expected profit margins. Ensure there is a management costing system which provides monthly costing information per contract measured against budgeted.

Performance Measurement

Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress towards business goals.

Management Reporting

Attend monthly Board Meetings to report financial performance to the Directors.

Location : Edinburgh (East)

Hours: 40 p/w but as required to fulfil role

Pay: Dependent on experience
