The Financial Controller will form an integral part of the senior management team and will focus on both financial and management reporting and support. The role will also assist in ensuring the finance function is able to meet changes in legislation and Company demands.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Production of Management Accounts within agreed Management Information Pack structure and take a lead on any improvements that can be made to the Pack and information that is being provided to Management
Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
Support with the production of statutory accounts and tax returns
Manage debtors and creditors
Management of cash flow across group companies
Provide financial analyses as needed, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
Preparation and review of annual budget for the businesses
Develop Financial Models to empower business decision making
Production of KPI's
Identify improvements to be made in systems/processes that are currently being used within business
Balance Sheet Reconciliations
Management, training and development of Finance team, currently two direct reports
Quarterly/Monthly VAT returns
Systems development
Involvement in monthly and quarterly management meetings
Person Specification
Essential:
Qualified, proactive accountant
Strong commercial awareness
Ability to communicate financial matters to non financial managers
Dedication to ongoing improvement and development of working practices
Experience working with Sage/Xero accounts package
Excellent excel knowledge and skills
Good inter-personal skills
Strong organisational skills
High level of confidentiality
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Willingness to always develop skills and knowledge
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to work accurately and methodically with attention to detail
High level of numeracy and ability to deal accurately with calculations of a complex nature
Ability to organise, schedule and adapt work tasks to meet conflicting deadlines and respond to changing situations
Qualifications:
Desirable for candidate to be qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA with 5 years appropriate work experience
