Role Purpose

The Financial Controller is responsible for the financial control, cash management and financial discipline of the business, with explicit authority over budgeting, cost control and financial governance.

Role Reporting

This role reports into the CFO

Accountabilities

Cash Flow & Working Capital + Own and actively manage cashflow across the all group companies.
+ Maintain and analyse rolling cashflow forecasts
Reporting & Insight + Ensure accurate, timely internal and external reporting.
+ Produce management accounts and supplementary reports with clear commentary and analysis
Budgeting & Cost Control + Full ownership of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
+ Establish clear budget ownership across departments.
+ Enforce financial discipline and challenge overspend.
Statutory & Compliance + Oversee preparation and submission of all statutory returns, including VAT, etc.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the annual budget and reforecast process end-to-end. Chair monthly budget vs actual review meetings with departmental heads. Produce monthly management reports on sales, margin, overheads & cost centre reports including commentary. Own working capital performance including debtors and creditors. Provide financial challenge on pricing, margin and investment decisions. Line management and development of Finance Team. Maintaining and developing financial systems and policies.

Job/Experience Requirements

Qualified Accountant Strong budgeting, forecasting and cost control experience Working knowledge of financial software and MS Office Strong analytical skills Excellent communication and presentation skills Line Management Leadership Strong attention to detail with a focus on constant improvement Experience collaborating across different departments and working with key stakeholders * Comfortable challenging non-finance stakeholders and influencing decisions
