Job Title: Financial Controller

Location: Merseyside

Salary: 65,000 - 70,000 per annum + Bonus Potential

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to join a well-established, group. The business operates across a multi-entity structure with national reach and significant turnover. This is a pivotal role within the senior finance team, offering strategic and operational oversight of financial operations and reporting.

This position will suit a hands-on finance leader who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and enjoys managing teams and streamlining complex processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee preparation of monthly and annual financial statements Consolidate group financials across multiple entities Deliver timely and accurate management reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) Monitor financial performance and provide strategic insights to senior leadership Lead budgeting and forecasting processes across the group Implement and maintain strong internal financial controls Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors Manage and mentor a finance team including accountants and bookkeepers Support senior leadership with business planning and investment decisions Oversee systems improvements and ensure data accuracy and compliance

What We're Looking For:

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance role Strong knowledge of financial reporting, consolidation, and controls Comfortable working in a complex, multi-entity structure Excellent leadership and team management skills Advanced Excel skills; experience with modern accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, or similar) Strong commercial awareness, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines
