Now Student Living is a growing purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) operator, delivering high-quality student living across the UK. We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead financial control, reporting and process improvement across our expanding portfolio. This is a senior, hands-on role, working closely with Operations, Residence and Property teams to ensure robust financial governance, accurate reporting and scalable systems to support growth.

The Role

You will be responsible for the accuracy, integrity and control of the financial records across Now Student Living and its operating entities, leading the Finance and Revenue teams and supporting the Operational Finance Director with reporting, budgeting and strategic insight.

This is a hybrid role. You are required to be in the London office 3 days a week with 2 working from home days per week.

Key Responsibilities

Ownership of monthly management accounts, balance sheet integrity and variance analysis Oversight of student income, rent billing, deposits, instalment plans and income reconciliation Lead annual budgeting and forecasting across the PBSA portfolio Manage year-end close, statutory accounts and external audit process Treasury management, cash flow forecasting and payment approvals VAT compliance and returns, including PBSA-specific considerations Financial oversight of new site mobilisations, acquisitions and transitions Support capex, WIP and property-related financial reporting Develop, lead and mentor the Finance and Revenue teams Drive continuous improvement in finance systems, processes and controls Partner with Operations and Residence teams to ensure financial compliance and understanding

About You

Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent) Strong financial control and reporting experience, ideally within PBSA, BTR, property, hospitality or multi-site operations Confident working in a fast-paced, growing business Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills Strong systems and Excel skills (Xero / property systems experience advantageous) Proactive, detail-driven and solutions-focused leader

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 80,000.00-90,000.00 per year
