Financial Controller

Job Description

The TBC Pub Company operates three pub/restaurants with rooms, located west of Edinburgh and in Fife. We strive for excellence in what we do, and we take pride in providing a great service and a great experience to our customers.

We are seeking a financial controller to join our business. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, reporting at board and bank level, and leading the organisation's accounting functions. The role is part-time, covering 20+ hours per week.

Duties



Manage and record all financial transactions using accounting software Xero Ensure full reconciliation of recorded sales versus actual income Reconcile bank statements and ensure all accounts are accurate Process accounts payable and receivable, efficiently and accurately Help in preparation of financial reports, summaries, and statements Oversight of monthly payroll processing Oversight of petty cash and employee expenses Maintain organised financial records in compliance with company policies and legal standards Support month-end and year-end closing procedures Liaise with external accountants for year-end procedures and provide necessary documentation

Qualifications



Proven experience as a finance administrator in a similar role Proficiency in use of Excel. Proficiency in accounting software. Payroll processing Strong understanding of accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger functions. Knowledge of Profit & Loss Statements and Balance Sheets Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and record keeping Good communication skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Experience with using Excel to measure business performance and to produce management accounts

Experience with Xero Software

Experience with hospitality businesses or similar industries
