THE ROLE
We are looking for a Financial Controller who will manage the financial operations of the Company.
The ideal profile is a qualified management accountant with strong experience as a Financial Controller, with the ability to work independently and cover many tasks simultaneously. This will be a full-time hybrid role based from our office in Southampton and will also benefit from the flexible working arrangements the Company has to offer. Travel may also be required from time to time.
As CEA continue grow there will be potential to also recruit an additional finance assistant to undertake some elements of the role.
Responsibilities
Administration of the Xero system for all CEA accounting matters.
Alongside the Finance Team, completing and managing the invoicing process - e.g. collating time-recording information based on Xero entries and reports, entering associate time and invoices from sub-contractors, producing draft invoices for Project Managers to review and submitting final invoices to clients.
Responsive and proactive Credit Control
Administering payroll and company benefits.
Setting up and making payments from the company bank account - in line with agreed procedures and policies.
Provision of accountancy advice and management services to ensure the ongoing success of CEA, in line with business plan.
Lead and liaise with external stakeholders to complete the annual accounting and tax matters for the group, including our subsidiary in Australia.
Undertaking the ongoing compliance on all day-to-day business taxes, Payroll, VAT, benefits in kind etc.
Secure and oversee the procurement of advice on complex tax matters or tax arrangements for work undertaken in different countries.
Advising on financial decision making across the company.
Oversight and delivery of annual budgets, business plan and revenue forecasting, with input from the CEA leadership team.
Effective cash flow management, including cash flow forecasting and maintain a long-term cash forecast.
Advising the MD, CEO and other Directors in all strategic and operational financial areas of the business.
Perform and present regular financial data and performance to the Board, and Leadership Team.
Monitoring and assessing operational and other business workflows of the organisation from a financial perspective to enable assessment of return on investments (such as development of the business in different countries, sales and marketing costs and innovation projects).
Monitoring performance against KPIs.
About the candidate
ACA, ACCA or CPA qualified.
Ability to operate independently.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Has a Minimum of 7 years of prior working experience in accounting with a demonstrable background.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and Xero Accounts (minimum 2-3 years using Xero).
Skills & Requirements
A practical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques.
Solid knowledge of standard accountancy and finance best practices.
A strong understanding of tax codes and laws.
Strong analytical skills to effectively analyse financial reports.
In-depth knowledge of budgeting and financial forecasting.
Ability to communicate complex financial information in an easy-to-understand format.
Excellent knowledge of computer programmes such as Microsoft Excel.
Excellent knowledge of financial and accounting software, including Xero.
Industry-recognised qualifications from organisations such as the Institute of Financial Accountants or Accountancy qualifications from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Ability to present detailed financial findings and recommendations to senior management.
Ability to work unsupervised independently working to tight schedules and managing multiple tasks.
Ability to work to the company philosophies and culture.
Result-focused, metric-driven.

Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong ability to identify and resolve.
Must demonstrate accuracy at all times and commitment to tasks.
