About the Role
Enthusiast Gaming is seeking a strategic and hands-on Financial Director to lead the accounting and finance operations for our UK and France entities: Steel Media Ltd, Fantasy Football Scout Limited, and Vedatis SAS. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, process efficiency, and regulatory compliance, while partnering closely with UK management and the Corporate Finance team based in Toronto, Canada.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in international finance, with a strong command of IFRS standards and hands-on experience managing accounting functions in high-growth environments.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Reporting
Lead all accounting and finance activities for the UK and France entities within the Enthusiast Gaming consolidated group.
Oversee and ensure accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages in line with IFRS.
Lead and manage the statutory audit process and support consolidated audits with the Corporate Finance team.
Prepare and file all tax-related submissions, including VAT and Corporate Tax filings.
Controls & Process Improvement
Maintain accountability for financial controls, policy adherence, and process optimization.
Identify and implement improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability across finance operations.
Oversee reconciliation of high-volume, multi-currency transactions and resolve complex discrepancies.
Team Management & Collaboration
Manage and mentor bookkeepers across the UK and France.
Partner closely with UK leadership and Corporate Finance leaders in Toronto (VP of Finance, Director of Financial Reporting, and CFO).
Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring to support strategic decision-making.
Systems & Tools
Lead the accounting system migration from Xero to NetSuite (ERP) and drive adoption and optimization.
Gain proficiency in NetSuite to oversee day-to-day accounting activities post-migration.
Additional Responsibilities
Support corporate filings and reporting to meet public company standards and securities laws.
Provide actionable financial insights, variance analysis, and executive-level reporting.
Assist with financial planning, cash flow management, and other strategic finance initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience as a Financial Director or senior-level finance leader, ideally within a global or multi-entity organization.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax compliance, and audit processes.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred).
Experience managing high-volume transactions and multi-currency reconciliations.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment and across time zones.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
