Role:





We are looking for a Financial Operations Lead to scale the company's financial operations during a pivotal phase of growth. This role is responsible for building robust, scalable, and well-controlled finance operations; covering core processes, systems, and tooling across the business. Reporting directly to the CFO, the role works cross-functionally with the wider senior leadership team to design and implement best-in-class financial workflows and internal tools, while ensuring the business can scale without adding unnecessary friction.



This is a rare opportunity to operate at a senior level in a fast-scaling, category-defining company that has just raised a $165m Series C. You will be trusted to build the financial operating backbone of a high-growth company from the inside out. You'll have real ownership over how finance works day-to-day, from tooling decisions to process design, and the mandate to modernise and automate at scale.



This role will involve at least one day a week onsite at our Wallingford facility.

Because of this, any applicant to be considered must be based in the UK and have full right to work in the UK.




Responsibilities:




Build and implement financial operations including AR, AP, billing, collections and payments Design, document, and roll out standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all core finance processes Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of finance systems and tooling, including ERP, billing, expense, and procurement platforms Partner with Product and Engineering to design, build, and maintain internal finance tools and automations Drive ERP implementation or migration (e.g. system selection, data migration, process redesign, and change management) Improve data quality, controls, and audit readiness through process and system improvements. Build and maintain operational dashboards and controls
Reduce manual effort through automation and system integration
Act as the operational interface between finance and the rest of the business



Required Qualifications:




5-10+ years of experience in finance operations, finance systems, or controllership-adjacent roles, ideally in a high-growth or scale-up environment Proven experience designing and implementing

finance SOPs and operational controls

Hands-on experience selecting, implementing, or migrating an

ERP system

is not a must but a nice to have Strong understanding of

order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, and record-to-report

processes Track record of driving

automation and process improvement

using modern tooling Strong systems mindset with attention to detail and operational rigour Ability to manage complex change programmes and bring stakeholders along Clear communicator who can translate operational requirements into technical and system solutions. Strong commercial judgement and strategic mindset Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and evolving environment, with a hands-on and ownership-driven approach High level of integrity, discretion, and sound judgement when handling sensitive information
