We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Finishing Supervisor to oversee the Finishing Department within our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the finishing processes, ensuring quality and HSE standards are met, and supervising a team of semi-skilled workers. This role is crucial in maintaining operational efficiency and delivering high-quality products to our clients.

Responsibilities
Health, Safety and Environmental duties
Ensure that the team are conforming with the health safety and welfare of themselves, others, manual handling techniques (including lifting and carrying), the environment in line with Company policies.
Ensure that the team are operating in line with the documented HSE procedures and flag up any concerns to Team Leader/Manager. Raising HSE issues as required & helping with the solutions.
Duties:
Finishing Tasks
Carry out electroplating and associated finishing tasks to ensure products meet the quality requirements. Finishes include - chrome, nickel, bronze, gold , and electrophoretic lacquered finishes
Operate and maintain various pieces of equipment within the plating line.
Safely measure out chemicals to the required quantity and safely add to process baths.
Set and maintain finishing process equipment and solutions within operational parameters.
Perform general housekeeping through the entire finishing area.
Inspect product for defects and conformance to process specifications.
Perform or provide assistance in routine preventative maintenance (including vat clean down).
Supervisory
Liaise with Manager/Team Leaders and operators to ensure work is carried out on time, efficiently and to the relevant quality standard.
Prioritise the list of jobs on the schedule and make sure they are started and completed on time.
Ensure the team have all the material, documentation and equipment that they need to do the job and sort out any issues (if possible) or escalate to the Manager/Team Leader if required.
Ensure the product meets the required quality level and raise any quality issues with the Manager/Team Leader.
Ensure operators are working in line with HR policies/rules.
Ensure all relevant documentation & records are filled in and bookings are carried out correctly and on time.
Assess/identify breakdowns and inform appropriate team member.
Identify training needs and provide appropriate training where required e.g. new starters; new processes.
Maintain housekeeping standards
Suggest ideas for Continuous Improvement and help implement the improvements.
Any other duties that may from time to time be reasonably expected.
Skills & Attributes
Must be able to read, understand health and safety data sheets and be able to complete day to day paperwork for safety/process requirements.
Ability to understand and follow manufacturing processes.
Be innovative in terms of problem solving and adaption to changes.
Have organisational skills and the ability to organise work through production operators.
Ability to motivate, guide and train team members.
Ability to work independently and meet critical deadlines and get others to do the same.
Determination & high standards of workmanship.
Ability to work as part of the wider business team.
A good attitude, flexible to challenges and possible changes is essential.
Experience
Familiarity with finishing processes and quality control standards is highly desirable.
A good knowledge of relevant product and production processes relevant to the area of responsibility.
Understanding of the importance of working to HSE requirements.
Qualification or experience related to working in a production environment.
Proven experience in a supervisory role and managing teams effectively within a manufacturing or finishing environment is essential while fostering a positive work culture.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with team members and other departments efficiently.
