About the Role



We are seeking a skilled and experienced

Fire Alarm Installation Engineer

to join our growing and dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, testing, and commissioning of fire detection and alarm systems in line with

BS 5839-1:2025

standards across a range of commercial, industrial, and public sector projects, covering mainly London and the Home Counties.

They will work closely with colleagues and clients to ensure all work is completed to the highest standards and in full compliance with current safety regulations and industry guidelines.

Key Responsibilities



Install fire detection and alarm systems (addressable and conventional) to the latest edition of

BS 5839-1

. Interpret and work from electrical drawings, system designs, and schematics. Run and terminate fire-rated cables using appropriate containment and fixings. Mount and connect detectors, sounders, call points, control panels, and interface devices. Conduct system testing, fault-finding, and pre-commissioning checks. Ensure neat and professional cable management and installations. Liaise with clients, site managers, and other trades as needed. Complete relevant documentation, installation certificates, and commissioning records. Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies at all times. Assist with servicing and reactive call-outs. Attend training courses to stay current with the latest technologies and legislative requirements Complete Health and Safety training and attend Toolbox Talks

Requirements



Level 3 BS 5839-1 qualifications Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations Proven experience in installing fire alarm systems in line with

BS 5839-1

. Strong technical knowledge of fire alarms systems (addressable and conventional) Strong understanding of electrical and fire safety regulations. Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills Strong communication and customer service skills Effective planning and management of work Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel (mainly London and Home Counties) Right to work in the UK and DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)

Desirable Qualifications



IPAF/PASMA certification Valid ECS/CSCS card
