Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented

Fire Damper Tester

to carry out the inspection, testing, and reporting of fire dampers in line with current fire safety regulations (BS 9999, BS 9991). The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and compliance of fire protection systems within commercial and residential buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

Locate, access, and test fire and smoke dampers as per regulatory standards. Visually inspect dampers for cleanliness, integrity, corrosion, and proper operation. Manually or electronically release dampers to test functionality. Record and document all test results, including photographic evidence and asset tagging. Identify and report any remedial actions required (e.g., faulty operation, access issues). Liaise with clients and site personnel professionally to coordinate access and schedules. Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely reports using provided software or templates. Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures on site. Support the remedial or repair team when required.

Requirements:

Previous experience in fire damper testing or a related fire protection role is preferred. Understanding of relevant regulations such as BS 9999, BS 9991, and HTM 03-01 (for healthcare settings). Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills. Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in various building environments. CSCS card (preferred or required). PASMA and/or IPAF certification (desirable). Driving license (essential for mobile roles).
