to oversee and manage fire damper remedial works across multiple sites. The successful candidate will lead the full lifecycle of remedial projects -- from surveying and materials management through to engineer coordination and client reporting -- ensuring compliance with relevant standards and certification schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all fire damper remedial activities, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Conduct or oversee site surveys to assess remedial requirements.
Coordinate and allocate work to engineers, ensuring resource optimisation and adherence to deadlines.
Manage the procurement and delivery of materials required for remedial works.
Review engineers' reports and ensure accurate, timely submission to clients.
Maintain compliance with fire safety standards, including
BS 9999
and third-party schemes such as
FIRAS
or
IFC Certification
.
Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of projects.
Use IT systems for reporting, scheduling, and documentation.
Embrace change and adapt processes as required to improve operational efficiency or meet client needs.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
Proven
project or remedial management experience
within the fire safety or building services industry.
Strong working knowledge of
fire damper systems
and their compliance requirements.
Good understanding of
BS 9999
,
FIRAS
, and/or
IFC
schemes.
Experience in surveying remedial works and interpreting inspection reports.
Capable of managing engineers and subcontractors effectively.
Strong
IT literacy
, including use of job management systems, spreadsheets, and report writing tools.
Highly organised, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously.
Excellent communication and client liaison skills.
Adaptable, solutions-oriented, and open to continuous improvement.
Desirable:
FIRAS/IFC accredited or familiarity with accreditation process.
Previous hands-on fire damper inspection or installation background.
Experience in compliance reporting or working within a regulated environment.
