Are you ready to take the next step in your fire safety career? Luton Council is looking for an experienced
Fire Door Qualification Supervisor
to join our committed Property & Construction team. This is your chance to make a tangible impact on the safety and wellbeing of Luton's residents.
We're seeking a proactive, skilled professional to lead the delivery of fire door installation and maintenance works, ensuring projects are completed on time, to budget, and to the highest safety standards. You'll manage a team of up to 20 operatives, coordinate resources, and deliver a responsive and compliant service across a range of housing and public buildings.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise fire door projects from planning through to completion
Allocate labour and materials effectively using Schedule of Rates and specifications
Produce accurate reports, estimates, technical drawings, and compliance documentation
Interpret written requests, construction drawings and provide technical guidance
Ensure works comply with CDM 2015 regulations and health & safety standards
Identify and implement solutions to technical and operational problems
Maintain respectful and professional communication with tenants, contractors, and stakeholders
Attend emergency callouts, meetings and inspections as required - including evenings/weekends

About you

What We're Looking For
At least 2 years' experience in the Fire Safety sector
Strong knowledge of fire door standards (BM TRADA or similar accreditation required)
Experience managing multi-skilled teams and delivering maintenance/construction works
Solid understanding of fire safety legislation, Health and Safety, and CDM regulations
Ability to develop safe systems of work and manage resources efficiently
Skilled in producing technical documents, drawings and construction specs
A recognised qualification in a building trade (e.g. City & Guilds) or equivalent supervisory experience
Full apprenticeship or equivalent experience in a relevant trade
Willingness to work at height, in confined spaces, and respond to out-of-hours emergencies
