Job description
We are looking for a Fire Stoppers to join our team, with experience in firestopping to help us deliver a number of projects in and around the Glasgow and at times covering the Scottish West and East areas. This will also involve carrying out firestopping surveys and evidencing.
Role
A fire stopper role involves installing and maintaining firestopping systems in buildings to prevent the spread of fire and smoke. This includes sealing openings in walls, floors, and ceilings where utilities like pipes or cables pass through, using fire-resistant materials.
Experience/Knowledge:
Experience in all aspects of Firestopping
Sound knowledge and experience of fire stopping techniques, products and materials
Understanding of regulations for compartmentation required between floors and around risk areas
BS 476 and associated standards for fire resistance testing
Understanding of regulations of fire doors and the need to fire stop around door frames
Experience working in a team
Competent in the use of electronic devices - smartphone and laptop, for the purposes of evidencing work as well as basic Microsoft Excel Skill
Must have a good working knowledge of Fire Risk and Health & Safety procedures
Operatives with Asbestos-awareness and first aid training preferred
Requirements
Have your own transport
Appropriate CSCS Card
Considering or working towards NVQ level 3
An extensive understanding of Passive Fire Regulations
To adhere to the company's quality procedures in all aspects of the job
To act in a safe manner in accordance with Health & Safety regulations and requirements
Schedule:
8-hour shifts (mainly day shifts, rare occasions night shift)
Certain projects may require working away from home for short periods
Monday to Friday
Job Types: 6 month contract
Pay: 17 per hour
