We are seeking a skilled Fire Stopper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring fire safety by installing and maintaining fire-stopping systems in various construction settings. This role requires a strong understanding of building materials and methods, as well as the ability to work with various tools and equipment. The Fire Stopper will play a crucial role in protecting structures from fire hazards.
Responsibilities
Install fire-stopping materials in accordance with safety regulations and building codes.
Inspect and maintain existing fire-stopping systems to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
Collaborate with other trades, including electrical, masonry, and carpentry teams, to integrate fire-stopping solutions into overall construction plans.
Use power tools and hand tools effectively for installation tasks.
Fabricate custom solutions as required for unique building designs or specifications.
Conduct thorough assessments of job sites to identify potential fire hazards and recommend appropriate solutions.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all safety protocols at all times.
Experience
Proven experience in construction or a related field is preferred.
Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, and welding techniques is advantageous.
Experience in roofing, masonry, electrical work, painting, or carpentry will be considered an asset.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings is beneficial.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
