We are looking for a technical and detail-oriented
Fire Stopping Manager
to lead our passive fire protection division. In this role, you won't just be managing timelines; you'll be the guardian of building compliance and life safety. You will oversee complex fire-stopping installations, manage compartmentation surveys, and lead a team of specialist installers to ensure every penetration and seal meets the highest regulatory standards. If you have a "zero-compromise" attitude toward safety and a deep understanding of fire protection systems, we want you on the team.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership:
Oversee multiple fire-stopping projects from initial survey to final sign-off, ensuring all works are completed on time and within budget.
Technical Design & Strategy:
Review architectural plans to develop robust fire-stopping solutions, ensuring all materials and methods meet specific fire-rating requirements.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Ensure all installations strictly adhere to
Building Regulations (Approved Document B)
and manufacturer-tested details.
Digital Reporting:
Manage the meticulous recording of works via industry-standard software (e.g., Bolster, Onetrace, or Boris) to provide clients with a "Golden Thread" of information.
Accreditation Management:
Maintain the company's standing with third-party accreditation bodies such as
FIRAS, BM TRADA, or IFC
.
Stakeholder Liaison:
Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, main contractors, and building inspectors.
Resource Management:
Coordinate specialist labor, procure fire-rated materials, and manage specialized equipment.
Health & Safety:
Conduct site-specific risk assessments (RAMS) and ensure the team operates safely in live construction environments.
Requirements
Industry Expertise:
Proven experience specifically within
Passive Fire Protection
or Fire Stopping management.
Technical Knowledge:
Deep understanding of fire-rated products (batt, mastic, mortars, fire dampers) and their applications.
Certifications:
NVQ Level 3/4 in Passive Fire Protection or a similar relevant qualification is highly desirable.
Regulatory Fluency:
Familiarity with current UK Fire Safety legislation and third-party certification schemes.
Detail-Oriented:
A "right first time" mentality with an obsession for accurate documentation.
Leadership:
Ability to manage and mentor a team of installers, ensuring high standards of workmanship.
Mobility:
A valid driving license for site visits and inspections is essential.

Pay: 25.00-28.00 per hour
