We are seeking a friendly and efficient Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting daily operations within the shop, assisting customers, and ensuring a smooth and welcoming environment. Previous experience in food preparation, restaurant service, or culinary roles is advantageous, along with a good understanding of food safety standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic setting, with responsibilities including serving customers, managing food items, and upselling products to enhance customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Greet customers warmly and assist them with their orders in a courteous manner
Prepare food items according to established recipes and safety standards
Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining high levels of hygiene and presentation
Manage cash transactions accurately using the till system
Upsell menu items and promote specials to maximise sales opportunities
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, including the kitchen and serving stations
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations at all times
Assist in stock replenishment and inventory management as needed
Support team members during busy periods to ensure excellent customer service
Requirements
Previous experience in food preparation, restaurant service, or related culinary roles is preferred
Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
Experience with kitchen operations or culinary tasks is advantageous
Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
Willingness to learn new skills such as upselling techniques and food presentation methods
