Fixed Term Deputy Manager
Salary: \xc2\xa328,060 per annum (pro rata)
Contract: Fixed Term -3 to 6 months
Hours: 35 per week avg - normally Monday to Friday

Mater Dei
Mater Dei offers 13 self-contained apartments to families. All of the Families have a key worker to help them access the services they need so that they get the very best support for a positive move-on out of homelessness. During each family\xe2\x80\x99s stay, the staff help in finding suitable long-term accommodation. Mater Dei provides the time and space so that families can address the issues that led to their homelessness. Taking time to mend broken relationships; address debts; develop and maintain a household budget; plan and cook nutritious meals for their families and learn to run a family home.

Your new role
The Deputy Manager will support the Project Group Manager (PGM) in the efficient and effective management of the assigned portfolio, and will work within the principal of harm reduction. In conjunction with the PGM you will be responsible for the day-today running of your assigned portfolio providing care and support to the particular client group. The Deputy manager will also be part of an on call rota.

Person requirements

  • Certificate, Diploma or equivalent in Community, Health or Social Science based subject or completed Depaul Emerging Leaders Course
  • At least 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience working with marginalised groups, ideally with people who have addictions and/or are homeless
  • Ability to use initiative, apply sound decision making skills, including the ability to act calmly in an emergency situation and respond in a professional manner to challenging and stressful situations
  • Ability to work within the constraints of a set budget
  • An ability to liaise effectively with other service providers and represent the organisation at a management level.
  • Knowledge of the statutory and voluntary sector resources available to homeless families
  • Sound knowledge of Child Protection
