What is the purpose of the role and expectations?
You will be responsible for providing all levels of support to the business and managing their 200+ fleet of vehicles. You'll work with stakeholders to improve driver quality and efficiency. You'll be great with IT systems and reporting to help the business make data-led decisions. A hands-on approach will be required to all aspects of the role, with a vision to build and grow the function.
What will be my core responsibilities?
Ensure proper maintenance and management of the entire vehicle fleet.
Conduct detailed inspections during handovers and allocations.
Conduct DVLA and other fleet inspections and maintain accurate records.
Oversee routine maintenance and repairs for the fleet.
Assist the on/off-hire process for vehicles including with a lease account.
Manage invoices and payments for regional road use charges.
Assist with annual vehicle insurance and vehicle tax renewals.
Use of MID portal tasks and utilise other systems for reporting and fleet management.
Assist with tracker installation and address any hardware issues.
Collaborate with stakeholders to streamline new vehicle purchases.
Assist with vehicle exchanges.
Complete relevant driver forms for HMRC (P46c / P11D information)
Manage fines and associated costs.
Manage fuel cards, purchases, and associated invoices.
What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?
Excellent IT skills using Excel and confident picking up new systems
Ability to work independently and take ownership.
Exceptional organisational skills with resilience to resolve unplanned situations.
An effective communicator able to engage well with a broad range of people from engineers to senior stakeholders.
* A full UK driving licence with confidence driving large vans will be beneficial but not essential.
