Starting from 42,412 per year

Permanent | Full Time (40 hours/week)

Take the lead in managing and optimising a fleet of over 260 mixed vehicles from 66 operator licence vehicles, 56 gritting vehicles, 138 mixed vehicles from 3.5t tipping vehicles to Small panel vans for NY Highways. As Fleet Controller, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our fleet remains safe, compliant, and efficient. This is a dynamic position that involves travel across North Yorkshire to visit our various operating sites, supporting teams and ensuring standards are met.


What You'll Be Doing




Manage the fleet management system and monitor compliance. Coordinate maintenance and repairs using advanced diagnostic tools. Oversee vehicle checks, driver hours compliance, and purchase requisitions. Liaise with suppliers to resolve issues and authorise higher repair limits. Improve workflows and be named on the Operator's Licence as Transport Manager. Provide on-site support across the county, delivering toolbox talks and ensuring health and safety standards.

What You'll Bring




Current Class C&E Driving Licence, Transport Manager CPC, and Tachograph Card. Strong knowledge of road transport regulations and compliance requirements. Experience with fleet management systems, workshop management, fuel systems, and telematics. Ability to travel across North Yorkshire to multiple sites. Ability to visit all workshop locations to deliver toolbox talks and report on workshop housekeeping and health and safety standards
