Flexible Nursery Practitioner
Job Description
Bumblebees Day Nursery are looking for someone to join their Team! Candidates must be positive, professional and keen to work with the rest of the team to provide a fun, stimulating day for the children.
The role is a flexible role, required to cover busy days, staff holidays and absences. You will be required to work with children aged 0-4 years predominantly and on occasion with our out of school club children. Hours between 0-41hrs per week.
We are open from 7.30-6pm Monday to Friday 51 weeks of the year. You will be required to work between 0-41 hours per week throughout these times.
Duties include the following:
Providing learning and care to all chiildren at Bumblebees Day Nursery
Abide by the company's health and safety policy by taking all practical and reasonable steps to ensure the wellbeing of all who use the premises.
Improving outcomes for children
Ensure all children have fun, exciting and challenging activities planned and carried out during the day. These must be linked to the child's interests and development milestones
Work alongside the nursery SENCO and key people to ensure all SEN children within the room are making progress and are able to have their developmental needs met by assessing the room effectively
Interact with children positively at all times, encouraging appropriate behaviour, social skills and hygiene routines
Ensuring all children have the skills needed to start school each year.
Essential Skills Required
A minimum of a full and relevant level 2 childcare qualification
Strong communication with colleagues, parents and children
Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
The safety and welfare of children is paramount to Bumblebees Day Nursery and this position is exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. This means that you must declare all criminal convictions, including those that would otherwise be considered "spent" on your DBS declaration form.
