Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Floor Layer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in installing various types of flooring, including carpet, vinyl, laminate, and hardwood. This role requires proficiency with both hand tools and power tools, as well as the ability to read and interpret schematics. A background in carpentry or painting is advantageous but not essential. The Floor Layer will play a crucial role in ensuring that all flooring installations meet high standards of quality and craftsmanship.

Duties

Measure and cut flooring materials to fit designated areas accurately. Install various types of flooring, including carpet, latex, vinyl, laminate, and weld Prepare subfloors by cleaning, levelling, and applying necessary underlayments. Use power tools and hand tools effectively to complete installations. Read and interpret schematics to ensure proper installation techniques are followed. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion while maintaining quality standards. Maintain a clean and safe work environment throughout the installation process. Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the installation process and provide effective solutions.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Floor Layer or in a similar role is preferred. Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools relevant to flooring installation. Ability to read and understand schematics for accurate installation. Basic knowledge of carpentry or painting is an advantage but not mandatory. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Physical stamina to perform manual tasks for extended periods, including lifting heavy materials.
