The Role
We're looking for a hands-on and dedicated Trainee Flour Miller to join our specialist Gluten Free Flour Mill team at Shipton Mill. In this practical role, you'll learn the rare craft of gluten free flour milling using grains like quinoa, teff and buckwheat. This is a unique opportunity to build expertise in a growing sector of food production, working within a values-led business known for its quality, integrity, and heritage.
You'll be trained to operate bespoke milling equipment, uphold rigorous allergen controls, and ensure product excellence every step of the way. For someone passionate about food, process, and doing things properly - this could be your perfect next step.
Key Responsibilities
? Operate and monitor gluten free milling and mixing equipment
? Prepare and weigh specialist grains and manage raw material stocks
? Maintain strict allergen and hygiene controls to ensure full compliance
? Record production and quality assurance documentation accurately
? Support goods in/out and stock management tasks
? Work collaboratively with the team and uphold our food safety and sustainability standards
Who We're Looking For
? Keen interest in food production and learning new skills
? Mechanically minded, hands-on, and happy in a physical role
? High attention to detail and commitment to hygiene
? Strong team player with a proactive, can-do attitude
? Previous experience in food manufacturing is helpful, but not essential
? Comfortable lifting 25kg sacks and working in a fast-paced environment
? Forklift licence desirable, but training can be provided
