Job Description

Miller Fabrications Ltd is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic trainee to join our busy drawing office in Wishaw. You'll be trained to become a Tekla Structural Draughtsperson.

This is a great opportunity to learn 3D modelling, gain experience in the construction industry, and build a long-term career. You'll also have the chance to train toward becoming a Crane Appointed Person, supporting safe lifting operations on construction sites.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Trainee Draughtsperson, You Will:

Learn to use Tekla Structures (industry-leading 3D steel design software) Help produce drawings and material lists for structural steel, staircases, and metalwork Read and understand architect and engineer drawings (with guidance) Support with project coordination, including document control and revisions Take part in occasional site visits and learn how drawings translate into real structures Learn how cranes and lifting operations are planned in construction Shadow our experienced team and work toward your Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) qualification

Who This Is For

We're looking for someone who:

Has recently completed a relevant course (e.g. HNC or similar in Construction, Engineering, or Design) Is eager to learn and build practical skills in a real-world environment Has an interest in 3D design, fabrication and construction Can use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) Has good attention to detail and enjoys solving problems Works well in a team and takes pride in doing a job properly
No experience with Tekla is required -- full training will be provided.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Friday: 8:00 am - 3:30 pm
