We are seeking a friendly and efficient Front of House Team Member to join our newly opened pub . This role involves delivering exceptional customer service and bar skills, ensuring smooth running of the bar and overseeing restaurant operations, serving and waiting tables and creating a welcoming environment for all guests. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and hospitality, with a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills. Previous restaurant experience is essential training will be provided. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic team dedicated to delivering memorable dining experiences.
Duties
Greet guests warmly and manage reservations to ensure a seamless arrival experience
Take orders accurately and serve food and beverages in accordance with company standards
Assist with food preparation and ensure the presentation meets quality expectations
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area, including tables, counters, and service stations
Handle cash transactions and operate the till efficiently using basic maths skills
Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities while providing honest recommendations
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and health & safety standards at all times
Support kitchen staff during busy periods, assisting with basic food preparation when required
Manage time effectively to serve guests promptly during peak hours
Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest queries and resolving any issues professionally
Qualifications
Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred but not mandatory
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is desirable
Basic maths skills for handling payments accurately
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Good communication skills and a friendly demeanour to engage with guests effectively
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Kitchen or culinary experience is a plus but not essential
Demonstrated time management skills to ensure timely service during busy periods
Willingness to learn new skills such as upselling techniques and food preparation processes
