Overview
The Food Safety Quality Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that food products meet safety and quality standards. This position involves monitoring compliance with food safety regulations, conducting inspections, and implementing quality assurance protocols. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles and be skilled in analysing data to improve food safety practices.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
To maintain the Quality Manual and systems to the required standards
To liaise with customers and suppliers regarding any quality or food safety issues
To approve, manage & maintain suppliers and service providers
Ensure compliance with supplier approval criteria
To work with Operations and Sales ensuring that all product meets the required standards
To ensure internal and external audits are managed effectively
To manage the HACCP team, including carrying out reviews, updating risk assessments, hazard analysis and product flows
To deal with customer complaints in a timely manner, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and monitored
To address any issues that may impact the safety, authenticity, legality, or quality of goods, as applicable
Completion and updating of specifications
Managing traceability throughout the supply chain.
To oversee and manage the training schedule, ensuring timely delivery of training for staff
To work with staff to promote a positive food safety culture.
Requirements:
Clean UK/EU driving license
Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience working in Quality / Technical role.
Third level qualification Degree or HNC/D in a relevant food related discipline or proven relevant experience.
Ability to effectively plan and organise to meet deadlines.
Strong IT skills and an ability to record and present information in a concise format.
The ability to work well under pressure and to play your role in a busy team environment.
Excellent communicator with positive leadership skills
Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to work independently
