Overview


Liskeard & Looe Foodbank is offering an exciting opportunity to undertake the rewarding role of Foodbank Manager.

This is a permanent post which is subject to a six month initial probationary period.

The post is part-time for 21 core hours per week (plus overtime as required to agreed limits). Hours may be worked flexibly according to the demands of the role. They will usually, but not always, include Foodbank opening times which are currently: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings .

Salary: 20,750 pa (FTE 37,050) 19 per hour

The foodbank is here for people who are in crisis with nowhere else to turn. Working to give people back their dignity and build self-esteem, we offer everyone a warm welcome, food choices, a safe space to chat, and practical support to help them move forward.
The last 2 years has seen unprecedented growth in demand for our services and we need someone with the skills and drive to manage that journey. As the public face of the foodbank, the successful candidate will be finding new ways to meet people's needs, building partnerships and driving development through an anticipated period of change.

The person we are looking for will be able to demonstrate commitment to
our values of compassion, dignity, community and justice and have the skills to lead, engage and support the organisation effectively.
Reporting to the Trustee board, they will have overall responsibility for the delivery and management of the Foodbank's operations, staff and volunteers.

This role requires strong leadership and management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including paid staff, volunteers, community organisations, and local businesses. The ideal candidate will be motivated, compassionate and committed, with a passion for tackling poverty and making a real difference in our community.

Essential requirements:



Excellent interpersonal skills to lead, manage and motivate people.

Excellent oral and written communication.

Empathy and ability to work with people from disadvantaged, marginalised, or socially excluded backgrounds.

Awareness of the environment in which the foodbank operates.

Good computer skills including Office applications and confidence in using social media applications in a work context.

Ability to organise and delegate.

Ability to work independently and unsupervised.

Good problem solving and decision-making skills.

Numerate and comfortable interpreting statistical data.

Ability to plan and manage the development of the foodbank.

Willingness to learn

Adaptable and flexible according to job requirements

Driving licence

Desirable experience/skills:



Experience of working or volunteering in an organisation that deploys volunteers.

A sound understanding of, and experience of engagement with, churches and other partner organisations.

Experience of helping those in need at times of crisis and of being able to support volunteers in helping those people.

Experience of bid-writing/grant applications
