to officiate games in our small-sided football league. The referee will ensure fair play, enforce the rules, maintain control of the game, and ensure player safety and sportsmanship throughout matches. This is a great role for individuals passionate about football and skilled in managing high-paced games in a recreational or competitive setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Officiate 5-a-side football matches according to the relevant rules and regulations (e.g., FA Small-Sided Football Laws).
Start, pause, and stop games in accordance with official timekeeping procedures.
Make decisions on fouls, free kicks, penalties, goals, and other in-game actions quickly and accurately.
Maintain discipline and control of the game, addressing unsporting behaviour appropriately (e.g., issuing warnings or dismissals).
Ensure the safety of all players by enforcing rules and stopping unsafe play.
Communicate clearly and assertively with players, coaches, and other staff.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience refereeing football matches (5-a-side, futsal, or 11-a-side).
Good knowledge of small-sided football rules and regulations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Confident decision-making under pressure.
Punctuality and reliability are essential.
Preferred Qualifications (not essential):
FA Refereeing Qualification or equivalent.
First Aid certification.
Experience working in league or tournament settings.
Working Conditions:
Evening and weekend availability may be required.
Matches played indoors or outdoors depending on the venue.
Casual or fixed shifts depending on scheduling needs.
