Hours: 37.5 (inclusive of early/late shift with additional weekend rota cover)

We are currently recruiting for an Examiner to join our fantastic team at our site based in Tamworth. The Role

This is a truly exciting time to begin or continue your career with our first-class business, as a Forensic Examiner you will be responsible for the examination and processing of exhibits and biological samples seized in a variety of criminal cases.

The successful candidate will also be expected to carry out a range of tasks, primarily the recovery of trace evidence, screening for body fluids using chemical testing and sampling for DNA profiling according to instructions produced by a Reporting Officer. You will also be responsible for the integrity and continuity of evidence and expected to produce a set of clear and concise handwritten notes and photographs for every examination carried out.

Qualifications

The ideal Candidate:

We are looking for someone who holds minimum qualifications of A-Levels/BTEC in science related subjects, along with previous examination experience at a SOC Examiner level or equivalent (preferable but not essential), is highly motivated, enthusiastic and possesses the competence and team spirit to support others and contribute to a positive culture. Here at EFS integrity and customer focus is at the heart of everything we do, therefore you will need to have an understanding of the impact of a lack of integrity in forensics and care about excellent customer experience, and of course quality is a must, having the ability to input into Quality and Science related topics such as validation/verification, training and mentoring would be a distinct advantage and will see you excel in this role.
