Role: Forest School Lead (Term-Time Only)

Location: Corby (NN17 1XA)

Hours: Minimum of 32.5 hours per week across 5 days per week

Pay: 12.80 - 13.80 per hour

We are seeking a passionate and experienced

Forest School Lead

to join our early years team and take a leading role in planning and delivering high-quality Forest School sessions for children across all age groups.

Your role:

Plan, lead, and evaluate regular Forest School sessions for children aged 0-5 years, following the Forest School ethos and principles. Design and implement a Forest School curriculum that complements and enhances the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive outdoor learning environment where all children can explore and take appropriate risks. Carry out thorough risk assessments and ensure health and safety policies are adhered to at all times. Manage and maintain outdoor equipment, tools, and resources responsibly. Model high-quality interactions, extending children's learning through observation, reflection, and skilled teaching. Work collaboratively with colleagues to integrate Forest School learning into the wider nursery curriculum. Build strong relationships with parents and carers, communicating the benefits and progress of Forest School activities. Support the setting's sustainability and eco-awareness initiatives. Contribute to staff training and development around outdoor learning and Forest School practices.

Essential Requirements



Level 3 Certificate for Forest School Leaders

(required).

Outdoor Paediatric First Aid qualification

(current and valid). Minimum

2 years' experience

leading Forest School sessions with children in early years or primary settings. Strong understanding of the

EYFS

and child development. Proven ability to plan and deliver engaging outdoor learning experiences across age groups. Excellent communication, leadership, and teamworking skills. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable



Level 3 Early Years Educator (EYE) or equivalent qualification. Experience working within an Ofsted-registered early years environment. Additional training in SEN, inclusive practice, or outdoor education. Knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly outdoor practice.
