Emma's Angels Day Nursery Ltd is a dedicated childcare provider offering a nurturing environment for children aged from 3 months to 14 years. We operate year-round, providing essential before and after school care alongside our nursery services and forest school.
Summary
We are seeking a qualified Forest school practitioner to join our team at Emma's Angels. This is an exciting time as we are expanding our forest school provision and opening a new forest school pre-school, alongside our current forest school provision and out of school forest school club.
We currently run forest school sessions within the nursery, every day apart from Monday for babies right through to pre-school. We also run a forest school out of school club Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Now building control has been granted we are in the process of rennovating land next to the nursery cabin, where we will be placing a new wooden lodge, drying hut and outside toilets and we will be opening a 16 place forest school pre-school.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and positive person, to join our existing forest school team. You will play a key role in leading sessions in the outdoors for our young learners, supporting the forest school manager and her deputy and leading independent sessions, for both nursery, our new pre-school and our out of school club.
The inital hours will be 15-20 per week, whilst the project develops and our numbers increase. The initial working hours will be Tuesday 8.45-11.30, Thursday 9-6 and Friday 9-2.30, term time only. Once the project is complete we are hoping that this person, will work 30 hours term time, with reduced hours in the school holidays.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement educational programs focused on both Emma's Angels and the forest school ethos.
Lead outdoor activities that engage children with nature and promote hands-on learning.
Create a safe and stimulating environment for children to explore their surroundings.
Collaborate with forest school and nursery staff to integrate forest school education into the overall curriculum.
Monitor children's progress and adapt activities to meet their developmental needs.
Requirements
Experience in early childhood education or related field is preferred.
Level 3 Forest School Qualification.
Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children and staff.
Passion for educating young minds about nature and sustainability.
