Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently handling materials, ensuring smooth shipping and receiving operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience and mechanical aptitude to contribute to our logistics processes in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Operate forklifts to load and unload goods, ensuring accuracy and safety at all times Manage materials handling tasks, including stacking, organising, and relocating stock within the warehouse Assist with shipping and receiving activities, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments Maintain accurate records using warehouse management systems (WMS) Perform basic equipment repairs or troubleshooting as needed to minimise downtime Conduct routine inspections of forklift machinery and report any issues promptly Support warehouse organisation by keeping work areas clean and tidy Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow efficiency

Skills

Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control Mechanical knowledge to perform minor repairs or maintenance on equipment Strong materials handling skills, including heavy lifting and manoeuvring large loads safely Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively Basic maths skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures within a logistics environment Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
This role requires a dedicated individual committed to safety, efficiency, and accuracy. Candidates should possess relevant warehouse experience and a valid forklift licence. The position offers an engaging work environment where attention to detail and mechanical aptitude are highly valued.
