JOB OVERVIEW:

As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for working as part of a team assisting with day to day operations within the Robinsons yard and stores. You will be loading and unloading heavy steel framed building materials, safely and securely, ensuring high standards are maintained and Health and Safety procedures are adhered to at all times

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The key duties and responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

Ensure deliveries are loaded and offloaded safely and in compliance with the companies Health and Safety procedures. Responsible for checking and counting inventory stock. Ensure the yard and storage areas are kept clean, tidy and compliant with the company policies and procedures. Assist with processing, checking and signing in deliveries. Maintain discrepancy records reporting in a timely, efficient manner. Follow and abide by company policies and procedures at all times. Deliver a high standard of service to delivery drivers and customers. Undertake additional duties as and when required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:

Proven experience of loading and unloading heavy loads. Hold a valid forklift license. Previous experience in undertaking yard duties; loading and unloading HGV trailers. An understanding of Health and Safety and manual handling regulations. Basic literacy and numeracy skills. Enthusiastic individual who can work well as part of a small team and independently. Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
