Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of carpentry techniques and be proficient in the use of various tools and equipment. This role involves working on a variety of projects, including residential and commercial builds, renovations, and repairs. The Carpenter will be responsible for ensuring high-quality workmanship while adhering to safety standards.

Duties

Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, and wallboard. Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to complete tasks. Perform masonry work as required for specific projects. Collaborate with other tradespeople, including electricians and plumbers, to ensure seamless project completion. Conduct measurements and calculations to ensure accurate cuts and installations. Assist in the installation of roofs, framing, and other structural components. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety regulations. Lift heavy materials as needed for various construction tasks.

Experience

Proven experience as a Carpenter or in a similar role is essential. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues on-site. Familiarity with commercial driving regulations is advantageous for transporting materials when necessary. Experience with heavy lifting and working at heights is required. A valid driver's licence is preferred for transportation purposes. Knowledge of welding techniques is a plus but not mandatory.
