We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to oversee the operations of our foster service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with families and possess the necessary skills to lead a service effectively while ensuring the highest standards of care and compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities
Lead and manage the daily operations of the service, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, Ofsted expectations and guidelines.
Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote best practices in foster services.
Supervise staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality care is delivered consistently.
Foster positive relationships with children, families, and external stakeholders to enhance community engagement.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to children's progress, staff performance, and regulatory compliance.
Ensure social workers supervise and assess suitability of applicants.
Organise and coordinate fostering panels.
Marketing and advertising campaigns to attract the best foster carers.
Address any concerns or complaints from carers, families, children promptly and professionally.
Support the Responsible Individual to maintain and promote high quality services.
Supervise a small team of social workers.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a social worker in children's services, ideally previous experience as a fostering service manager.
A strong understanding of child development principles and practices.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to engage effectively with children, families, and staff.
Relevant qualifications in childcare or management and registration with social work England (e.g., Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care).
A commitment to continuous professional development and improvement in childcare practices.
